Hi, I'm Brian.
trellean is my independent practice, built on deep experience at both ends of the spectrum: enterprise systems and startup shipping, and everything in between.
Both ends of the spectrum
I've spent my career working where the requirements are unforgiving. Enterprise-scale systems where reliability, security, and uptime are non-negotiable, and data pipelines and integrations that can't quietly break. That world teaches you how to build things properly: architecture that survives, code that's maintainable, and decisions you can defend years later.
But I've also lived the other end: startups and small teams where speed wins, budgets are tight, and "good enough today" beats "perfect next quarter." That world teaches you a different discipline: shipping, pragmatism, and knowing exactly where to cut corners without cutting the wrong ones.
That combination is the whole point of trellean. Most consultancies are strong at one end or the other. Enterprise shops are thorough but slow and expensive. Startup devs are fast but often don't know how to build things that survive real scale. I bring enterprise rigour to early-stage problems, and startup velocity to bigger organizations, and I'm just as comfortable anywhere in between.
The result is work that's built properly, shipped quickly, and actually fits the business it serves, not just tech that looks impressive in a demo. Along the way I've worked deep in international logistics and supply chain (freight, customs, carriers, and the systems that move goods across borders), where the same discipline applies: connect the systems, and the shipments follow.
